The Track Quartet is sooooo very good. This one is a little quirky, given the quirkiness of the first person narrator. The audio is fantastic and an afterward makes clear that the narrator and author have collaborated in the past and that the author's intent with the narrative voice was exactly as intended.

Sunny's mom died shortly after giving birth to him and his dad has pushed him to finish his moms running dreams, but Sunny doesn't want to run anymore he wants to dance is there a way to make himself and his dad happy?

This book brought me to tears. Sonny's mother has died in childbirth with him and now his dad is a sad, emotionally frozen soul. However, Sonny does have lots of support from his relay racing team and his coach. Sonny is a star relay racer, just as his mother had been and it seems to be the only joy his father has as he watches Sonny excell.

But now, all of a sudden, Sonny can not race for one more day. He feels the urge to move and dance, as he realizes that even though he is good at racing, he hates it. Sonny knows that if he doesn't quit running, he will suffocate.

Sonny's journey of self- discovery is as exhilarating as it is heart breaking. A slim little novel with a powerful punch.

I'm guessing there's going to be a "Lu" book to finish off the series.
