Antigoddess has several of my favorite things (Greek mythology, prickly heroines, good action) so I wasn't surprised that I liked it. Kendare Blake has an earnest way of writing that fits a contemporary setting well, and I really, really like how she portrayed Athena (which is not at all how I'd ever imagined her).

It was a wee bit complicated in that there were some questions not answered, which I hope will be addressed in book 2 (like, WHY do other gods think they will be able to fight their deaths if they kill their fellows? Or is it just a chance for vengeance, petty and stupid?). I'm also hoping we see a few more Greek gods and goddesses in book 2, because I'd love to see what she does with a modern-day Dionysus. And Hestia!

Given the believable, fun characters and the fact that it's a Greek mythology action novel set in modern day, I recommend it for both fans of Greek mythology and gods, and fans of contemporary magical realism. And urban fantasy. Also for fans of female protagonists, romance that isn't terribly sticky, and those who don't mind a little violence in their action plot. I know I'll be grabbing Book 2 in the series.

It's worth noting that the narrator does a great job, especially with tonal inflection to portray different characters and thoughts versus conversation.
