I was expecting more from a Washington insider. Other than a few tidbits about Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Mitch McConnell there really isn't anything new here. This is not a substantive book of the kind we expect from, say, Bob Woodward.

Interesting background, but the author's tendency to automatically assign blame for the President's failures to the other party is somewhat off putting and not to be expected in a serious scholarly work.
