Was impressed with Lisa Black when writing as Elizabeth Becka. Her character's down to earth, pseudo laid back persona, attention to detail, and a very good story line from start to finish was refreshing. Also, it didn't take 400 plus pages to execute a very good story.

her series is enjoyable. the books may not be as big as a Kay Scarpetta novel, but they hold the interest!
