"Gabby and Elliott have been happily married for eighteen years. They have two teenaged daughters; they have built a life together. So why does forty-three-year-old Gabby feel like she has only three more minutes left of youth? Why do her friends so desperately try to hang on to their attractiveness? And why does she ever even look at the handsome guy--ten years younger--at the other end of the bar one night? Gabby is the last person to have an affair--a physical one, at least. But Matt makes her feel sparkling, fascinating--something she hasn't felt in years. Surely there's no harm in continuing a long-distance friendship? Surely there's no harm in an emotional affair? As Gabby steps ever deeper into the allure of attraction and attention things turn perilous. If she makes one wrong move she could lose everything--and find out what really matters most"-- Provided by publisher.
An easy and good read. Terrible consequence from a bad choice! I like the happy ending though it seems too good to be true! Maybe with true love and forgiveness, it is possible?!
This author does an astounding job of pulling the reader into the life of Gabby, a level-headed and predictable wife of 18 years, who is swept away by the temptation of engaging into a one-time affair with someone half her age in an effort to spice up her dull existence. The aftermath of this love tryst takes one on an emotional journey with the main character as Gabby tries to hold onto her failing marriage brought on by infidelity while trying to maintain the respect of her two daughters after admitting to her wrong doings. Despite all of Gabby’s efforts to make amends for the damages this selfish act brought upon her family, things continue to spiral even further out of control with the news of the infant life growing inside of her body. The author’s careful attention to the small details of this story keeps the reader on the edge of his seat while awaiting Gabby’s final fate.
I found this book equal parts hopeful and unbelievable. It was well written, and I did find myself hooked. Definitely explores the ideas of forgiveness and acceptance. I was happy with the ending as well.

I very much enjoyed this book, it thoroughly held my attention as most all of Jane Green's books do :)
