Worst book I have ever finished. I kept hoping she could pull it off, but apparently, when a writer has nothing to say and is bored to death with her character, she goes on a road trip and just writes a string of consciousness journal occasionally inserting her characters. I should have put it down after chapter two, but hope springs eternal. Skip this one and move on the the next--unless you are totally obsessed with Rt. 66.

Although I've enjoyed most of the books in this original series, this is one of the best. Facts about Mallory's life before New York have been few & far between but we finally get some answers in this story, interspersed with a cracking good plot about the race to catch a serial killer. As usual, there are a few surprises waiting for you at the very end.
