Lines of Tribe, a feature documentary will explore the cultural and social impact of one of the most profound shifts in human history -- the acceleration of interracial marriage that began during the second half of the 20th Century. This film is a timely response to the recent election of Barak Obama to the American presidency, who is perhaps the world's most famous person of mixed race descent. Lines of Tribe will take a long view of the human family tree through interviews with Michael Rosenfeld , social demographer who studies race, ethnicity, immigration, and family structure, especially family structure changes over time, author ( The Age of Independence ) and associate professor - Dept of Sociology, Stanford University , married couples of mixed race and focus group. Lines of Tribe will look through both ends of the telescope, at once taking a broad view of human history and a narrow view of the experiences of people living today, in the first decade of the 21st century. Through interviews with people who are involved in mixed race relationships and children of mixed race parents, Lines of Tribe will reveal the human story of people who are experiencing one of the most profound shifts in human history. "We encourage the viewers of Lines of Tribe to challenge assumptions, keep an open mind and continually question not only the nature of interracial marriage, but also the nature of what an ideal world would, or could be the blurring of the Lines of Tribe will be frightening to some people, but perhaps the old limits the old hatreds the old tears will gradually give way to wider horizon of hope, courage and prosperity for our world and all its inhabitants." - Ted Unarce, Director.
