Add a CommentA movie featuring a strong carefree girl. She might’ve been part of the reason I was a tomboy when I was a kid. My own 5 year old daughter loved the movie. My only complaint is that the show makes light of wasting food by throwing pies in people’s faces.
This movie is the one I grew up watching and is amazing. OBVIOUSLY the over-dubs are not perfect. That's what happens when the movie is recorded in Swedish and translated to English. It's a funny & adventurous movie and I can't wait until my own kids watch it over and over!
I watched this because I had read the book...and this movie was TERRIBLE! The talking was out of sync, and the acting was BAD! I suggest...DON'T WATCH IT!
Best book ever
A HUGE disapointment to the book.
I loved this show when I was little, as I loved most of Astrid Lindgren's stuff. Pippi is "the strongest girl in the world" who lives in her own, gigantic pastel house with Mr. Nilsson, the capuchin monkey. She travels around with her friends Anika and Tommy and has all sorts of non-scary adventures that young children will find fascinating. Unlike movies aimed at little kids today, this movie, released in 1969 is not about educating kids and teaching them something new every 2 seconds, but rather, letting them relax and enjoy the freedom and wonder of being a child and exploring the world around them.
