A new different kind of spy heroics. Not much character building in the beginning but the story keeps moving at a nice pace without being predictable. All great actors. I'd watch the next chapter if it happens. Idris is one big muscular dude! He fits a hero's physique perfectly.

A decent wheels-within-wheels plot is subverted by a terrible screenplay and truly ghastly dialogue. The French malfrats and flics corrompus are the only convincing actors in the lot, although Richard Madden tries to work with the cards he has been dealt. Idris Elba is just plain silly in his one-dimensional performance as the baddest badass in Paris who leaves no cliché unturned as he saves the city from ... well who knows what. Along the way we get a riot that looks like an outtake from Les Miz (I'm not kidding), and a Banque de France building that no one who has ever walked down the rue Croix des Petits-Champs would recognize. But let's give a tip of the hat to ingénue Charlotte Le Bon, who at least brings her pretty face to the proceedings. A director like Paul Greengrass might have made something of this film; but writer and director James Watkins has proved in spades that he was not up to the job. A missed opportunity best watched when not sober.

Bond, James Bond? Not really. But there are elements. Plenty action, lots of noise, guns blasting, bomb threats, chases, cars, and on foot, if this is your thing, this film delivers.

I enjoyed this fast paced film. Idris Elba fulfills the role, in my opinion. Has some surprises at the end. Takes place in Paris, France. I enjoyed the supporting cast. The story has been told quite a few times before, but I still enjoyed it.

Well acted and directed. Visually, it's fine. But the script is very weak: Ham-fisted dialogue, by-the-numbers cop-and-con team up. If you haven't seen something in this movie countless times before, you'll see things coming. It's okay, just not very original or well-written. Surprised Idris did this one.

Elba has done better movies. Over acting at first but as movie progressed it improved.

I really liked this action packed fast paced drama with the sexy Idris Elba and the actor who I believed played Robb Stark in the Game of Thrones show.

Are you familiar with Deep Net cryptocurrency transactions?
-I don't bank online.
Right. You're a field guy. Your last op, Anbar, you were tasked surveillance, but you did a little more than that. Without clear visual evidence, you broke cover to take down six suspects who you alone had ascertained were carrying concealed explosives. I'm curious, are you saying you knew what they were carrying underneath their clothing before engaging?
-Oh, yeah. Like I could tell you, Tom... got tighty whities on, right?
But in the process, you exposed your key informant, Fatima Hamza. Two years building her trust, infiltrating the terror network, wasted.
-It was a calculated risk.
Really? Because your Baghdad CO describes you as reckless, insubordinate and irresponsible toward human assets. You recognise that description?
-No, but I recognize an asshole when I see one.
