Loved this true story of "Red Dog". Now a few warnings. The movie has a rock music soundtrack. It also has scenes you might not want young children to see. That said, for all of you that won't be bothered by either the music or sexy scenes (mild by anyone's tastes), this movie should be a delight for you!

Other than no CC available I thoroughly enjoyed this lighthearted comedy about a dog that changes the lives of everyone he comes in contact with. Poignant to the end !

My four star rating is all about Koko's performance as Red Dog. For anyone who saw the film "Hachi" with Richard Gere or the original Japanese story, this is another story that will cause heart pangs. There may be some parts in the narration that I wish were more brief only to see Red Dog/Koko, the star of the movie. I highly recommend watching the Special Features at the end especially Koko's audition. Unfortunately I learned this great canine actor has passed on. Despite the subject of this movie, there are parts that would make it more appropriate for an adult audience. A preview is recommended.

I loved this story, especially since it's based on a real dog. The quality of the film is lacking but the characters are quite funny. Very emotional.

Based on the true story, this film is a great emotional tale of adventure, love and lasting friendship.
It is amazing that the protagonist dog and antagonist cat act superbly well---better than the human actors and acrtesses.
In the story, RED DOG travels to Shimonoseki (下関) in Japan.
I wonder how he could travel back to Dampier.
RED DOG died on November 21, 1979.
His statue remains on the road to Dampier---a major industrial port in the northwest of Western Australia.
His story has become an Australian legend.

This was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. What an interesting life this dog led.

I can't rate this DVD - loved the basis of true story & would have enjoyed the book. The film is rather poor IMO. The best part was the training parts. What an unusual dog.
