"Looking to shake up their routine lives, three amateur bird watchers compete to become the ultimate 'birder' by spotting the greatest number of species within a single calendar year. But the friendly rivalry soon turns into a hilariously complicated cross-country adventure as each man begins to realize that the quest for success comes at a price--and that's not chicken feed!"--Container.

Overall, a good movie. Some interesting locales - which demonstrate the lengths folks will go to find a particular bird. The part with Jack Black’s father and the owl is touching. Owen Wilson leaving his attractive wife to go on an annual bird hunt, is a bit of a stretch.

Watched a lot of nature films lately, so liked this.
A good plot, and love the actors.

This movie is only a little exaggerated from the truth about certain obsessive birders. The woman in the movie (Annie Auklet) who runs the seabird trip on a boat is based on someone who does that in real life. Her name is Debi Shearwater, she sails out of Monterey Bay, and I've never been sicker than I was on one of her trips, in maybe 8-foot swells. I got to see a Great Blue Whale, so it was worth it.

A quirky, humorous, slow paced movie about middle aged men obsessed with bird watching. This is a fun movie to watch if you are a birder or a fan of Jack Black, Owen Wilson, or Steve Martin.

Nothing above average here, but it's cute enough to merit a watch. It definitely made me more interesting in birding!

I'm no birdwatcher except for the humming birds and Rose Breasted Grouse Beaks that I see in the summer at my feeders. I enjoyed this movie more than I thought I would. I could not imagine all the things that birdwatcher will go through to find the birds.

Never heard of this movie until I recently went on my first bird walk and was informed about it by other participants. Quirky engaging movie. Bogged down slightly near the end, but overall very enjoyable.

Not as funny as I had hoped considering the cast, but enjoyable nonetheless. Beautiful scenery and a simple story make this movie a must-see for all bird lovers.

A bit slow at times, but glad I stayed with it til the end. Lots of great nature photography as the birders travel the world.

And I am enjoying actor Owen Wilson more and more.
