I borrowed every Iceland guidebook I could find in the library system to prepare for a trip to Iceland in 2019. This was the best guide, hands down, so I bought my own copy. I would recommend that you read Rick's comments carefully - he's a bit subtle on the cost of hotels and restaurants. For example - He "suggests" that one might want to "explore" different lodging/eating arrangements. We found a great 3 bedroom apartment through Air B&B for 6 days that cost less than 2 hotel rooms for one night - and we could cook meals and make lunches to take with us on our "adventures"! There are other guidebooks better for a week treking across the ice fields or back country camping - but if you want a guidebook that is easy to understand and follow - I recommend this one!

I'm normally not a fan of Rick Steve's guides as they tend to just skim the surface but this Iceland guide is excellent. After reviewing several Iceland guides this one has the most detailed information to plan you itinerary including suggestions for how long to spend at attractions.
