Rising Star

the Making of Barack Obama
Jul 02, 2017lawalsh0714 rated this title 0.5 out of 5 stars
(I gave this 1/2 star because I couldn't give a zero star rating) This book is more than 1000 pages and contains WAY too many details. (Additionally includes nearly 300 pages of Notes and 50 pages for Bibliograpghy) Chapter One doesn't even mention Barack Obama or his family or friends AT ALL. It feels like the author is trying to include ALL details on EVERYTHING, however irrelevant the details are to addressing the character of the 44th President of the U.S. Given the multitude of details, the author doesn't connect the details and get to the character development at all -- you, the reader, has to do all the work of sifting through the endless details, details, details to determine what is interesting and relevant vs. what isn't. What's the point? BORING and mindless!
