I never found the snapping intimidating in parodies; just came off as stupid and pretentious. Here in the source material, I was actually intimidated. Go figure. Choreography was top notch, songs were catchy and fun, and the message and acting were very good. The only things I did not like, was Marni Nixon's dubbing, (Once you watch My Fair Lady w/ Audrey Hepburn all your life, it's unnerving to hear Eliza Doolittle's singing come out of Natalie Wood's mouth) and the fact that the gangs actually agree where to fight. WHY NOT FIGHT THERE? Overall, better than La La Land.
